- This painting was done on site at hook head, this is the oldest operating lighthouse in the world and one of Irelands great lighthouses
- This is art work is completed on site
- The style is loose, painterly and impressionistic
- Only the highest quality professional soft pastels have been used (Unison and Sennelier primarily)
- The painting has been done on acid free archival pastel paper that is guaranteed to keep the painting crisp and vibrant for years to come
- I sign my all paintings with three small letters "TEL", this keeps the focus on the artwork and off the signature
- Great care is taken with each and every painting to properly pack it and ensure it arrives to you safe and sound



About the artist:
Hello, my name is Terry Sommerville and I live in Ireland on the south-west coast. I left my science degree and corporate job behind in 2017 and have since qualified as an outdoor instructor in multiple areas such as surfing, kayaking and climbing. A lot of my paintings are based on scenes I captured while pursuing these activities.

I took up painting in 2019 and fell in love with it soon after. To create a successful painting you must simultaneously balance multiple elements but still paint with your heart, this mix greatly interests me and keeps me motivated to continue developing myself as an artist.

I am primarily drawn to nature and especially to the sea but I will never shy away from a subject if it sparks my interest. My aim is to compose and capture the impression of a scene in a loose painterly way and communicate that to the viewer.
